From the Editors Unfortunately there was a printing error in the last issue of the Community News with the wrong closing date being given for the nominations for the Parish Council. These errors do not happen very often, but it was unfortunate that it involved a very important date. We apologise to anyone that may have been affected.

Bishops Hull School - May Fayre
The members of the PTA at Bishops Hull School are holding their May Fayre on the 21st of May. This is their major fund raising event and it is hoped that the whole village will support it. There will be a variety of stalls and a lovely big raffle as well as a BBQ, Cream Teas, Donkey Rides and Country Dancing.
They are also hoping to have some live music.

Bishops Hull Flower Show
On Friday the 20th of May the Bishop's Hull Flower Show committee is holding a free social evening with a Bring and Share Supper. They will supply drinks free of charge. The speaker will be Alec Reed, retired head gardener of Nynehead Court who will give a talk on Nynehead Court and also share his growing and showing techniques. So get ready with your gardening questions etc. Do come and support 'your' show. The event takes place in the Church Hall at 7 pm. For more details contact Roy Baker on 274542.

Bishops Hull Parish Church On Saturday, 7 May in the church hall and car park there is a coffee morning with bacon baps, book stall and plant stall. Please support them and enjoy a drink and a chat. If you have a surplus of plants then do please bring them along. Open from 10.00 a.m. through to 12.00 noon. They look forward to seeing you there.

The Church Social Group is putting on a barn dance in the Church on Friday, 24th of June at 7 p.m. There will be a Bring and Share Supper in the church hall in the interval. If you would like to go along please ring Sheila on 461230. Tickets cost £2. Please bring your own drinks as well as food to share.

Frank Bond Centre
If you are interested in playing Whist there is a very good Whist Club meeting at the Centre every Monday between 2 and 4 pm. You will be made very welcome.
Frank’s Café every Friday 9 am – 11 am.
The Family History Group will meet between 2 & 4 pm on the 2nd of May.
The Monthly Lunch is on the 19th of May.
Music Circle – 2 pm – 4 pm on Wednesday the 25th of May.

Bishops Hull House – Access for all
Bishops Hull House on Bishops Hull Road is displaying works of art by local artists. Do go along, browse and look at cards and jewellery, which are for sale. Coffee is available and the garden is looking good. Entry is free between 9am and 4 pm during the week. If groups are visiting please contact Emma or Steve on 01823 335491

Little Movers
Please note that little Movers no longer meet in the village. They now meet at the Trident. For further details please ring Emma on 353050

Fledglings for children under 5
Fun Fridays - This is a ‘Drop in’ group for parents and carers of children under five. They meet every Friday afternoon in term time from 1.45pm to 3.15pm in the pre-school room at Bishops Hull Primary School. The cost is £1 per family to include refreshments. This is part of the Fledglings Children’s Centres group. For more information please ring Jo or Sharon on 01823-278000

Car Boot Sales There are three Car Boot Sales this month. The dates are Monday the 2nd, Sunday the 15th and Monday the 30th. Please make an effort to support the Car Boot Sales as they are the major source of income for the Playing Field.

Second hand books Pam Mildon needs more second hand books for sale at the Village Day on the 12th of June. Please deliver them to her at 120, Wellington Road or telephone her on 284625 if you want them collected.

April's Bishop's Hull Community News
