Bishops Hull Village Events Group

What we do

The committee was formed with a view to providing a variety of activities that would appeal to villagers of all ages. The activities are largely self-funded with support from the Parish Council. The committee meets at the Old Inn at times designed to coincide with planning and organising the next event(s).

What links the members?

A sense of social responsibility and the desire to invigorate the village of Bishops Hull by organising events for the pleasure and interest of all.

Restrictions on membership

Anyone with a pulse(!), a few good ideas and willingness to get involved for the benefit of others. If interested in joining please contact any of the members listed below.

Overview of activities

During the first two years the group has organised:

• Barn Dances (x2) in the community hall
• Christmas tree lights (annually)
• Festive songs, mulled wine and mince pies in front of the church (annually)
• Get To Know Your Village Day on the playing field
• Evening jazz concert with bar and barbeque on the playing field

Further planned activities include:

• Cheese and wine tasting evening with live music (postponed until wine expert available)
• Jazz evening with barbeque and beer tent on the playing field
• Autumn evening soiree
• Continuation of festivities at Christmas
• Liaising with church to organise activities for the 2008 bells celebrations
