Party in the Park - July 12th 2010

July 12th may not have been one to remember for the England football team! But it was definitely a FANTASTIC day for Bishop's Hull Village Events Group who hosted Party in the Park 2010!

While the sun shone we devoured cream teas, browsed the lovely stalls and ate ice cream by the gallon. The children bounced on the free bouncy castle while Mums and Dads relaxed with a well earned drink and enjoyed the quality tunes from the Ukulele Band, Dead End Friends and On the Level

There are many people to thank for their time and help on the day: the Community Police, Green Watch from Taunton Fire brigade and Mike Belch from the 'blood' bike charity Freewheelers - young and old learned more about the essential services you all provide. Jasmine for organising and running the tug of war competition. The ladies of the WI for their tasty cream teas. Stuart Fear who made sure we were safely wired up. Tim and Lin for manning the BBQ all day and loaning us their party tent. The Frank Bond Centre for lending us their tents. John Rigby for his lorry. And finally the Bishop's Hull Village Hall and Playing Field Trust for the venue!

It was great to see so many families setting up little 'camps' and entering in the spirit of the event which created such a lovely atmosphere. There was certainly some dancing talent among the young ones - future Britain's Got Talent stars!

Thank you to all who have supported us throughout the year in our fundraising and look out for future events which will be advertised locally.

from the VEG committee.
