| BISHOP'S HULL PARISH COUNCIL www.bishopshull.org.uk 16th JULY 2009 1. The dropped kerb on Shutewater Hill had not yet been installed and as Mr Summers was away, it was agreed to postpone a site visit with the engineer until he was able to attend. 2. The possible resiting of the bench at Haydon Close was also postponed due to Mr Summers' absence. 3. The Police were present to discuss items of interest under the PACT scheme. It was agreed that a close eye would be kept on the play area, the playing field and the community woodland during the coming summer months in case of vandalism, illegal camping, etc. There was some criticism of the Police reaction to the troubles following the recent summer event on the field, and the Council undertook to write to the Chief Superintendent to voice their concerns about slow or non-existent reaction times. 4. Mr David Jorgensen attended the meeting to talk about the village website and the community computers, and to outline the financial position. The Council agreed to underwrite the website in future years in the sum of £200, as it is a valued asset to the community. It was however essential that the website was kept up to date. 5. Members considered the duties of the street cleaners (both the Council's and Taunton Deane's). It was important that the maximum value was obtained from this service, and that the two cleaners did not duplicate their work. Mr Porter offered to monitor the situation. 6. The Persimmon Homes application had been revived and it was anticipated that it would be considered at the September meeting of the Planning Committee. The main changes had been to the traffic management options, particularly the junction at the end of Bishop's Hull Road with Wellington Road. A meeting was due to be held on 23rd July with SCC to further discuss this. A list of S106 proposals had been obtained from Taunton Deane, but further clarification was required and meetings would need to be held. Mr Burgess said he would co-ordinate these. 7. Local groups - the Council received reports from local groups including the LAT and the VEG. 8. It was noted that several footpaths were overgrown, and strimming was required in many areas. 9. Information about all Parish Council meetings and members is on the village noticeboards and the Website www.Bishopshull.org.uk 10. Full copies of the minutes of Parish Council meetings are available on request from the Clerk. There may be a small charge for printing costs. 11. The next Parish Council meeting will be on 10th September at the Frank Bond Centre, starting at 7.30 p.m. SUE WATTS - Clerk to the Parish Council - tel. 333567 |
