| BISHOP'S HULL PARISH COUNCIL www.bishopshull.org.uk 20TH SEPTEMBER 2007 1. Mrs Carol Bulbeck has been co-opted to fill the casual vacancy on the Council caused by the resignation of Mr Alan Debenham. 2. Development on the fields to the west of Bishop's Hull Road - rumours are circulating about a possible application being submitted to build houses here. The Parish Council is actively engaging with Taunton Deane about this, and has invited the Planning Officer to the next meeting to update them on any developments. 3. The Council received a response from First Bus saying that they have no intentions at present to axe the No 3 bus service, but keep all of their routes under constant review, as they are operating a commercial service. 4. The Local Action Team continues to meet and is actively recruiting volunteers from village organisations, including the Parish Council. Traffic speeding through the village and extending activities for young people are two matters under current discussion. 5. Landmark trees - the Clerk submitted the particulars of three trees or groups of trees in the parish to Taunton Deane for consideration as 'landmark trees' but has not yet heard whether any of them are to be included in the scheme. 6. Park and Ride lights - the Council has heard that these are, at last, to be turned off at night. Security cameras will still be in operation on the site but will be infra-red. 7. There is a lot of vegetation overgrowing paths and verges in the parish, particularly down Shutewater Hill and in Mountway Road. Please cut back any overhanging hedges on your property which may affect pedestrians or passing bikes/vehicles. Do not make the Clerk have to write to you! 8. The Village Events Group is holding a 'Sound of Music' night in the parish church on 19th November - keep an eye out for further details! 9. Information about all Parish Council meetings and members is on the village noticeboards and the Website - do visit and have a look - www.bishopshull.org.uk 10. The next Council meeting is on Thursday 25th October, at 7.30 p.m. at the Frank Bond Centre. SUE WATTS - Clerk to the Parish Council - tel. 333567 |
