| BISHOP'S HULL PARISH COUNCIL www.bishopshull.org.uk 10th SEPTEMBER 2009 1. The dropped kerb on Shutewater Hill had gone up considerably in cost and it was agreed to seek extra funding elsewhere before proceeding with the work. 2. Smells from Frethey House sewage system had been investigated and they were now employing a new company to overhaul their system. Hopefully this would put an end to the bad smells. 3. A new bus stop will be installed near 57 Bishop's Hull Road following a meeting with Somerset CC and the bus company. 4. It was noted that the Bishop's Hull Charity is being closed down. The residual funds must be used to benefit local people or organizations, and applications should be made in writing as soon as possible to Mrs B Mapletoft, the Secretary. 5. The Persimmon Homes application was considered again at length, particularly the traffic management proposals for the section of Bishop's Hull Road from Waterfield Drive to Wellington Road, and the crossroads. Confirmation had been received that it would be coming to the meeting of the Planning Committee on 23rd September. The S106 proposals (designed to make life better for the residents following the development) were still being negotiated, and members had lots of questions. If the planning application is granted, the Council will convene a meeting of local interest groups to discuss the S106 proposals in greater depth. 6. A request for a Parish Meeting had been made, but not properly constituted, so it would not be held on the date proposed. It was agreed that, should it be properly called and appropriate, the Council would take over the organization. Any call for a Parish Poll should be discouraged as it would be both costly and ineffectual. 7. The duties of the Street Cleaner had been re-examined and several changes were agreed to the work methods and schedule in order to make the work more effective and to avoid duplication. 8. Information about all Parish Council meetings and members is on the village noticeboards and the Website www.Bishopshull.org.uk 10. Full copies of the minutes of Parish Council meetings are available on request from the Clerk. There may be a small charge for printing costs. 11. The next Parish Council meeting will be on 22nd October at the Frank Bond Centre, starting at 7.30 p.m. SUE WATTS - Clerk to the Parish Council - tel. 333567 |
