SEPTEMBER 2010

1. The old bench at Haydon Close will be removed and renovated. A new location will then be sought for it.

2. Parking in Heron Drive and surrounding areas was mentioned as a public meeting was due to be held on 19th October, organized by Cllr Ian Morrell, to discuss this with local residents.

3. The old footbridge over the River tone at Netherclay - an approach was being made to English Heritage to have this bridge listed. There was no firm news yet of whe repairs were to be done to the road bridge at Tytherleigh Mill.

4. Road works at junction of Bishop's Hull Road and Wellington Road - several people attended to express concern that works were to start on this junction on 27th September. Letters had been sent to some local residents to that effect which had caused great concern. However, it appeared that the necessary procedures had not been followed in that an approved specification and drawings had not been published, and the instructions to start had not been confirmed by SCC so it was not in order for the work to proceed. It was agreed to write urgently to SCC and TDBC requesting clarification and highlighting these concerns.

5. LAT - it was reported that PCSO Simon Parry was continuing his excellent activities for youth and was currently considering becoming involved with the Tall Ships project. Speedwatch was continuing, and was effective. The LAT AGM was to be held on 26th October and although there was still some funding available, some sources had dried up.

6. VEG - their AGM had been held and had been well-attended. It had been a good year and they were surviving financially. Sue Popplewell was the new Chairman and Mr Porter the new Treasurer.

7. Concern was expressed about the running down of the Village Shop and the potential loss of the Post Office as a result. There was not much the Council could do at the stage but the situation was noted with great regret.

8. Information about all Parish Council meetings and members is on the village noticeboards and the Website www.Bishopshull.org.uk

10. Full copies of the minutes of Parish Council meetings are available on request from the Clerk.

11. The next Parish Council meeting will be on Thursday 4th November 2010 at the Frank Bond Centre, starting at 7.30 p.m.
